Jan Hartwig

…fulfills his life’s dream

Only a little more than five months after Jan Hartwig opened his first own restaurant in Munich’s art district, close to Königsplatz, on the 25th of October 2022, he regained three Michelin stars on the 4th of April 2023.
Just like his successful pop-up restaurant on the grounds of the Nymphenburg Castle, his light flooded restaurant with an open kitchen also bears the name “JAN”.

With that Jan Hartwig fulfills his life’s dream of self-employment. The restaurant can host up to 40 guests and has a private dining room.
He will remain true to his cooking style and philosophy, which is an equal mix of modern and classic techniques, as well as traditional and demanding experiences of taste.
The highest levels of craftmanship, sustainability, the best products, primarily from local areas, play an equally important role as a high level of creativity and individuality.

Book

In many industries, pressure, stress or even elbowing are apparently unavoidable in everyday work today. success is everything. This certainly includes gastronomy and above all star gastronomy, in which mistakes are sometimes immediately publicly and rarely forgiven. The award-winning three-star chef Jan Hartwig knows what is important to give the best possible every single day, even under the greatest pressure – from outside and inside. His credo: Be better today than yesterday and be better tomorrow than today.

In his first book, Jan Hartwig lets Sabine Steinbeck look into the pots and gives his readers the most important recipes for success in his impressive career. In 14 chapters, the authors serve up the elementary principles with which Jan Hartwig has made it to the top of his guild and confirms this success there day after day. Basic ingredients that make it possible to live stars.

From passion and inspiration to focus and further development to the question of how to stay true to yourself or how to overcome failure: the two authors serve in very personal conversations and on the basis of lived, exciting stories from star cuisine suitable coaching instruments for their readers for private and professional everyday life. In this way, each individual can go directly into implementation and improve their actions and career immediately – in every industry and in every job.

An inspiring success story paired with numerous learnings, concrete coaching tips and an exercise part with (self-)coaching impulses and reflection tasks. Refined with personal insights into the recipes for success of prominent personalities from a wide variety of industries and social areas, such as B. Chef of the century Eckart Witzigmann, the multiple world rally champion Sébastian Ogier or the entrepreneurs Bodo Janssen (Upstalsboom) and Thomas Mack (Europa Park).
